About Mary Ann Melton
I have had an interest in photography since I was a child with a Kodak Brownie camera. As a young adult, my husband introduced me to the 35mm format. We've been fortunate to do a lot of travel. I have loved taking pictures of the places we have been. The great outdoors has always been my favorite subject - mountains and streams especially. Seven years ago I got my first digital camera. Digital opens up a whole new level of creative possibilities.
This past nine years, I have really taken my photography very seriously - working to improve both my ability to take quality photographs as well as learning how to improve them in the digital darkroom. I have learned so much from my memberships in the North American Nature Photographer's Association (NANPA) and from the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP).
I have found our world to be a wondrous place with so many beautiful and interesting things to photograph. I want to share the beauty that I see with others. I would like my work to inspire others to go out and experience nature first hand for themselves.
I have a blog: Mary Ann's View . You'll find information about my latests travels as well as some of my other interests. When I go to photographic events, I blog about the people I meet and the things I learn.
